Discover the magic of Puzzlewood

Welcome to the enchanted world of Puzzlewood, a unique and ancient woodland in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Puzzlewood is a rare temperate rainforest and a popular filming location, which has featured in Star Wars, Doctor Who and many more.

PuzzlewoodExperience Puzzlewood’s twisted trees and moss covered rocks, creating an otherworldly woodland that is quite unlike any other. The mile and a half of paths take you up and down steps, through mossy gorges and over wooden bridges to scenic lookouts.

Fun for families

Puzzlewood is fun for all ages; with beautiful scenery to inspire all. Children can enjoy our educational Roman coin treasure hunt and our information boards will tell you more about Puzzlewood’s history, geology and film/TV connections.

Great for groups

A great destination for families, friends or community groups. Meet here as a family or arrange a school trip to take advantage of our KS1 and KS2 learning resources.

The perfect place to stay

Puzzlewood is perfectly situated to explore the beautiful Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Stay with us and enjoy the added bonus of being able to explore Puzzlewood outside of normal hours. We have a choice of accommodation, ranging from a well appointed 3 bedroomed house to off grid shepherds huts (coming soon). Children or adults can learn about our animals and help with their feeding every morning.
