Did you know that Puzzlewood can help you engage and inspire your pupils in their learning? Our magical, designated ancient woodland can help you teach and explore many areas of the National Curriculum, supporting learning outside the classroom.

- begin a topic about The Romans by visiting a place where the Romans mined for iron ore 2000 years ago and a hoard of 3000 Roman coins was discovered!

- immerse your pupils in a magical, mystical place to inspire drama or creative writing
Our 12 resource units, written by local teachers, cover elements of the Geography, Science, Art and Design, English and Maths curriculum and are packed with practical, easy to deliver activities, saving you lots of planning time for your school trip.
Free Teacher Preview Visits
There are, of course, many other ways to use our unique, special woodland in your outdoor learning; we strongly encourage you to come for a free teacher visit to see the potential for yourself. Why not hold your staff meeting at Puzzlewood (tea and coffee supplied) so that everyone in school can see the potential?
Arranging your visit
School visits can be arranged outside of normal opening times and by prior arrangement only. Please email info@puzzlewood.net with your preferred dates.
Cost
£8.00 per child, based on a minimum group size of 30.
We offer free adult places as follows:
Early Years/Reception – 1 adult free for every 4 paid children
Key Stage 1 – 1 adult free for every 5 paid children
Key Stage 2 – 1 adult free for every 8 paid children
Key Stage 3/4 – 1 adult free for every 10 paid children
Additional adults are charged at £9.50 per person
Other groups
Puzzlewood also welcomes youth and adult groups and discounts are available for groups of 30 or more. Please contact us for details.
Risk Assessment
We provide a sample risk assessment based on previous school visits. Please note: we strongly recommend a pre-visit to Puzzlewood so that you can check the risk assessment and make any necessary adaptions according to the needs of your group.
